Lake Eyasi Girls' Vocational Training Center Project

Project Summary
We offer vocational education in tailoring whereby vulnerable girls are trained and couched until they start their own tailoring marts. It also offers secondary education for two years whereby vulnerable girls are trained for two years and seat for qualifying tests and thereafter they are sponsored to join various colleges in Tanzania. Up to now, Lake Eyasi Vocational Training Centre has helped 600 girls, some are teachers, nurses, doctors, administrators, hoteliers, tailors and several other professionals.

- O.P.E Lake Eyasi managed to provide vocational education to more than 600 women and girls who are now employed in different cadres in various industries including medical industry, hospitality industry, fashion industry, education and several other industries.

- Lake Eyasi Vocational Training Centre has been able to operate for 15 years sustainably from 2009 to 2024.

- O.P.E Lake Eyasi Clinic has managed to provide medical health services to more than 10,500 patients since 2017 to 2023

- O.P.E has managed to build 12 modern houses for Widows and abandoned women in Lake Eyasi area.
- We managed to re-unite 12 families that were not having houses and now have houses to stay with their families. Children who were re-allocated to relatives due to lack of homes returned back to join their mothers. This built a sense of love, respect, hug and a new hope.
- O.P.E managed to unite widows and abandoned into groups and started for them small businesses to sustain their lives. The beneficiaries of the project have enjoyed the project through increased income, increased saving, increased ability to access health and education services and balanced diet. The project has created happiness to the families.

- O.P.E managed to establish well for clean water. This relieved women from travelling long distances seeking for clean water. Women were also rescued from other challenges that they were vulnerable to while travelling to fetch water at long distances.
